Today is the day that Fred Hampton an African-American activist, revolutionary, Black Panther chairman, Fred Hampton was born. He inspired so many and instilled revolution in our bloods through his activism & radical spirit which manifested in powerful words. He was taken away from us unjustly at age 21, assassinated by our own government through cointelpro, while laying in bed next to his pregnant partner. Yet, his words of organized fury still affects us. As he would've said, "you can kill a revolutionary, but you cannot kill a revolution"! We love you Fred Hampton, thank you for flooding our veins with the resistant power of solidarity. "You don’t fight fire with fire. You fight fire with water. We’re gonna fight racism with solidarity. We're not gonna fight capitalism with Black capitalism. We’re gonna fight capitalism with socialism. Socialism is the people. If you’re afraid of socialism, you’re afraid of yourself."
